SAME Architects is a studio of architecture and interior design based in Braga, in the north of Portugal. We were founded in 2018 by a small group of architects whose first projects were houses for friends and small renovations of family apartments — work that taught us to listen first.

Today we are a team of nine, working across northern Portugal and, increasingly, abroad. Our practice covers single houses, hospitality interiors, small-scale residential developments, and a quiet program of furniture and product design we publish under the name Perspectives.

We believe in slow architecture: in the value of a long brief, of returning to a site many times, and of making decisions that the building can carry over a hundred years. We do not have a signature material or a signature shape. We do have a way of working — careful, almost obsessive about detail, fond of natural light, suspicious of trend.

Our clients are private individuals, families, and a handful of patient developers. Our collaborators include some of the best photographers, craftspeople, and engineers in Portugal. We are happy here.
